Foster Care Review Board Honors Scottsdale Resident

The Foster Care Review Board (FCRB) regularly recognizes volunteers who exemplify community service and dedication to the best interests of Arizona’s foster children. This quarter’s recipient is Barbara Pearson of Scottsdale.

Barbara has served on the Foster Care Review Board since 1997. She is also a member of the Removal Review Program, a volunteer program administered by the Arizona Supreme Court that ensures that children are removed from their homes when necessary to protect their safety, but are not needlessly removed. Barbara has attended numerous conferences and training sessions to develop her knowledge and to help her advocate effectively for Arizona’s foster children. She gives unselfishly to assist the FCRB program in any way that
she can.

Barbara Pearson was presented the Quarterly Exemplary Service Award by Vice Chief Justice Berch, on June 7, 2006 at the Arizona Supreme Court Building in Phoenix. “The Arizona Supreme Court is honored to have Barbara as a volunteer,” said Vice Chief Justice Berch. “More importantly, Arizona’s foster children are fortunate to have a person of her character and devotion supporting them.”

The Foster Care Review Board was established in 1978 by the Legislature to improve the Arizona foster care system. It consists of county boards statewide and is administered by the Arizona Supreme Court.

If you would like to make a difference in the lives of children in foster care, please call 602-542-9406 or visit azfcrb.org.

Did You Know?

There is a definition for marital status.
Marital status refers to the lawful recognition of the agreement between a man and a woman to be husband and wife. Along with the legal marital status of being married, the husband and wife acquire rights and obligations to their respective spouses. The rights and obligations begin when the couple is married and may continue, to a certain extent, even after the termination of the marriage. A family lawyer can help you further define marital status in your state.
